What Do You Think?

I tell you what I think, or think about everyday. But, today, I need your help. I have three weeks off between semesters and I would really like to read a book that has nothing to do with school. If I don't have a book to read, I stay on the computer all night long, and then I get a neck ache, and then I can't sleep, and then I am crabby. So, you see, a book to read is an essential. What should I read? Have any good book ideas I should try? Tell me what you have read lately and loved and why, please. Don't tell me about any romance novels, secular or Christian, I can't go there.

And, nobody has anything to swap for this poor bracelet? http://hwithink.blogspot.com/2008/04/whatcha-got.html

i am reading cat and dog theology now for small group and i have liked it. it's not a hard read. but gets you thinking. two other easy reads that i just love are Messy Spirituality and Dangerous Wonder by michael yaconelli.

i also liked Praise Habit by David Crowder. and Redeeming Love is a christian fiction book but it is amazing. i am not into christian fiction, but i read this one and loved it.

but redeeming love is what i would say a romance book so scrap that idea if you don't go there.

i liked the Friday Night Knitting Club - heard julia roberts bought the rights- so they will make a movie that won't be half as good as the book - but it is a very easy read and has some great women characters in it - and you like to knit...

recommending books is so tricky. books are such a personal thing. i have two authors i LOVE. one is maeve binchy. i have every book she's written so you can borrow if you would like. they are long and she develops the characters slowly. the second is marian keyes. the language is terrible but they are sooo funny - all with very dysfunctional families. i also own many of her books. let me know.

Oh boy, I am going to need an extra long vacation to get all this reading in. I am making a list and will work through it. Dawn and HPB, I have not read any of those, I am looking forward to it. VoteMom, I have read both of those authors and usually like them. However, I am just finishing Maeve's Whitethorn Woods and did not find it up to her usual.

yes agree about her latest. it took me a long time to get into, but by the time i finished it i was glad i hung in there. it does all pull together at the (very) end.

i'm glad to know another binchy fan!
